What can I expect at a Catholic wedding?
Although Ryan & Erin are both Catholic, the ceremony will not be a full Nuptial Mass. The ceremony will include the Liturgy of the Word, the exchange of vows, and the Nuptial Blessing, but will not include the Eucharist.
Is there a dress code?
The dress code is formal/black tie optional. We ask that men wear tuxedos or suits and women wear formal long gowns (preferred) or cocktail dresses. For the ceremony, we will be in a sacred space at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Please be mindful of this when picking your attire — thank you for your understanding!
What time should I arrive at the ceremony?
Please arrive to St. Mary’s Catholic Church (111 Hampton Ave., Greenville, SC) at 12:30 pm. The ceremony will begin immediately at 1:00 pm. Arriving early gives you time to find a seat and enjoy the beauty of the church!
Can I take pictures during the ceremony?
It’s very important that guests refrain from taking photos during the ceremony, out of reverence for the religious service. Please ensure phones are silenced and any alarms are turned off. We like to leave our phones in the car during church to avoid any distractions or potential noises, which may be a good option for you. A professional photographer will be capturing everything, so you can be present and enjoy.
Where should I park?
Ceremony: There is a large (free) lot at St. Mary’s with plenty of parking!
Reception: Parking is available at the attached garage at the Westin for $7-$10 per day. The garage is located behind the hotel at 25 W McBee Ave. Valet parking is also available at the Westin for $15-$20 per day.
Will transportation be provided for guests?
No. We encourage you to take an Uber or Lyft or enjoy the few blocks walk through downtown Greenville!
The Westin is 4 blocks away from St. Mary’s. The walking distance between the two locations is about 0.4 miles, which typically takes around 10 minutes.
Why is there a gap between the ceremony and reception?
The ceremony will end between 1:30-1:45 pm, and in order to give the wedding party time to take pictures and travel back to the reception venue, cocktail hour will not begin until 4:00 pm and our entrance will occur at 5:00 pm.
What should guests do during the gap?
We’re so grateful for your flexibility and understanding. We hope you enjoy this little breather before we all come back together to celebrate, laugh, and dance the night away! If you’re looking for something to do during this time, please check the Things To Do section on our website. We’ve listed some of our favorite local spots for guests to enjoy while in town for the weekend. It’s a great way to make the most of the gap!
Where is the reception and what time should I arrive?
The reception will take place at the Westin Poinsett hotel (120 Main St., Greenville, SC) in the Gold Ballroom, 2nd floor. Cocktail hour will begin on the 2nd floor Mezzanine at 4:00 pm.
The bride and groom will enter at 5:00 pm and kick off the reception with first dances. Dinner will be served and then it’s time to hit the dance floor and celebrate until 9:00 pm!
When should I RSVP?
We kindly ask that all guests return their pre-stamped RSVP cards no later than October 10, 2026. Unfortunately, we will not be able to accommodate guests who RSVP after this date.
If you have any issues with your RSVP card, please reach out to Ryan or Erin.
Are children welcome?
Yes, absolutely! If your child’s name is on the invitation, they are welcome to attend.
Can I bring a plus-one?
We respectfully ask that only those who have been named on the invitation attend due to seating and reserved plated dinner selection.
Will dietary restrictions be accommodated?
Your RSVP card will have an option to submit any dietary restrictions. Please be as specific as possible so we can accommodate you to the best of our ability.
Do you have hotel recommendations?
Yes! We have reserved a block of rooms at 3 hotels in downtown Greenville. Please visit the Accommodations tab for hotel details and deadlines to make reservations.
